In September 2005 the Danish label Danacord released a CD with The Aarhus Symphony Orchestra. The CD contains music by the Russian composer Balakirev, the tonepoem Tamara, piano concerto nr. 1 and Balakirev's Symphony no. 1. 
James Loughran, former chiefconductor of the orchestra, is conducting and soloist is the russian pianist Oleg Marshev. Previously they have recorded Rachmaninov's complete works for piano and orchestra and the romantic virtuos Emil von Sauers 2nd piano concerto in c-minor.
