In March 2004 the Aarhus Symphony Orchestra recorded two ballets by the Danish composer Knudåge Riisager (1897-1974). The CD, conducted by Bo Holten, was released on the Danish label Dacapo in the spring of 2005. Read the Claccics Today review (excerpt beneath). "Holten and the Aarhus Symphony play the music with more than the necessary commitment and enthusiasm, obviously relishing its many opportunities to create evocative sonorities and glowing textures, and Dacapo's sonics are simply ideal: warm, focused, and clean." citat David Hurwitz, Claccicstoday.com
Månerenen was composed in 1957 inspired by a Lapponian fairytale. The ballet has been performed several times at The Ryal Danish Thjeatre but it is now recorded for the first time ever.
Qarrtsiluni was composed in 1938, inspirered by Knud Rasmussen's book "Festens Gave" choreografer was the legendary Harald Lander.
