In May 2004 the Danish record label Danacord released a CD with the Aarhus Symphony Orchestra. The CD contains music by the romantic piano virtuoso Emil von Sauer (1862-1942), several pieces for solo piano and the second piano concerto. 

Former chiefconductor of the orchestra, James Loughran, and the russian pianist Oleg Marshev have worked together before. Previously, together with the Aarhus Symphony Orchestra, they have recorded the complete works for piano and orchestra by Rachmaninov.
