The audition takes place: Monday October 6^th and Tuesday October 7^th 2025

*After applications are closed, applicants will be informed as to whether they are invited directly to the 1st round, or are requested to submit a pre-recorded video. Deadline for the video will be the Sunday 7th of September 2025.

Mahler: Symphony Nr. 5: 1st mvmt: (bars 1-24)
Mussorgsky/Ravel: Pictures at an Exhibition: I. Promenade (bars 1-8)
Stravinsky: Petrushka (1947): 3rd Part (rehearsal mark 134-143)

Round 1:
Joseph Haydn: Trumpet Concerto, Hob. VIIe,1: 1st mvmt. bars 37-117 (must be played on an American model Bb trumpet)
Orchestral excerpt: Mahler Symphony Nr. 5: 1st mvmt. (bars 1-24)

Round 2:
Arthur Honegger: Intrada for trumpet in C
Orchestral excerpts (option)

Round 3:
Orchestral excerpts

Round 4:
Orchestral excerpts with orchestra

All music to be played in orchestral tuning A = 442 hz

Orchestral excerpts will be sent electronically to the applicants 3 weeks prior to the audition.

The audition will take place at the Symphonic Hall at Musikhuset Aarhus (Concert Hall Aarhus), Skovgaardsgade 2c, 8000 Aarhus C, Denmark. The Aarhus Symphony Orchestra will provide a pianist on the day of the audition, but travelling expenses and expenses for accommodation must be met by the applicant.

SALARY: Salary pursuant to the current agreements between the musicians’ union and the Danish regional symphony orchestras.

NB: Candidates are asked to keep themselves informed as to the current rules and regulations concerning work permit in Denmark.
