is auditioning for:

Concertmaster (joint position)


 

The audition takes place: Wednesday, October 8th and Thursday, October 9th 2025

Required material for audition:

Round 1:
W.A. Mozart: Concerto No 4 D major KV 418, 1st & 2nd mvmt. with cadenzas
OR
W.A. Mozart: Concerto No 5 A major KV 219, 1st & 2nd mvmt. with cadenzas
+ orchestral excerpts/span>

Round 2:
1st mvmt. with cadenza from one of the following concertos: Beethoven, Brahms, Sibelius, Tchaikovsky, or Nielsen
+ orchestral excerpts

Round 3:
Orchestral excerpts

Round 4:
Orchestral excerpts with orchestra

All music to be played in orchestral tuning A = 442 hz

Orchestral excerpts will be sent electronically to the applicants 3 weeks prior to the audition.

The audition will take place at the Symphonic Hall at Musikhuset Aarhus (Concert Hall Aarhus), Skovgaardsgade 2c, 8000 Aarhus C, Denmark. The Aarhus Symphony Orchestra will provide a pianist on the day of the audition, but travelling expenses and expenses for accommodation must be met by the applicant.

SALARY: Salary pursuant to the current agreements between the musicians’ union and the Danish regional symphony orchestras.

NB: Candidates are asked to keep themselves informed as to the current rules and regulations concerning work permit in Denmark.
